Is it our country or is it just the latest generations? I mean seriously, what the fuck are you all thinking? You don't like the outcome of who our country picked for president so you decide to riot, break other peoples stuff and argue with everyone? How "American" of you. Actually, how fucking childish, selfish and ignorant of you.
You call yourself an American when people that are here from other countries have more respect for this country and its people than YOU do. I"m not here to tell you which candidate was the better choice or which party is the superior. Frankly, I don't give two fucks about politics and parties and what not. I work, I pay my taxes, I don't trust politicians as far as I can smell them but am I going to go out there and argue with another citizen (Human Being actually) or destroy someone else's property because they voted for someone that I wouldn't have liked? Jesus, please go and kill yourself now and I mean that with all my heart. Because you clearly are the rotten fruit of society that needs to be exterminated. I'm not a fan of, nor would I ever condone killing another human for anything OTHER than self defence at the most, but I encourage you to take the easy road the fuck out of this world if all you're going to do is spread more hatred and separation among us human beings. The knee jerk reactions are what caused us so many issues in the world. "Hey, I don't understand you. So I'll kill you!". Sound familiar, Hitler? KKK? Anti-Gay members?
I don't blame Canada, Mexico or any other country within walking, driving or boating distance to completely close their borders to us. Why? Because the ones wanting to leave are the ones who want to spread hate, encourage negative shit like racism and all the other grand ol' shit that we've been fighting against.

Why the holidays are just days to me...
When I was a kid, the holidays were the best. Mom and dad may not have enjoyed it like I did, but they did enjoy seeing the joy in my face. That made all the drudging and dragging themselves and me out of the house worth it. Christmas was a day to go see as much family as you can and flip a coin on who's house you'll settle at for dinner.
Halloween was the time to make sure no one could recognize me and I was able to pillage the neighbors (or the mall) for candy that I couldn't eat 3/4 of because I was swelling up like a tick as I got older. Birthdays were random and Easter was all to ourselves. That is, when dad wasn't being a Jehovah's Witness. When he was, Mom took care of the holiday fun while dad just sat back with his Budweiser and a steak. I'll forever think of my father when I see the old red and white or smell a nice cut of beef seared and sizzling waiting to be eaten. Dammit I'm craving steak now.
Anyways.
So most of the holidays were just family gathering reasons. Thanksgiving was the biggest for my family really, because it's food driven and we're Italians so you do the math. Christmas was the 2nd, though most of it was over before noon really. At least for the kids it was. Instead of a sugar high, it was a present high. When I was really small and we lived in NY, I got Transformers and Star Wars toys. Voltron was a special request for my birthday one year. I still curse myself for not saving those lead paint coated metal mountains of joy I had.
Now a days I see more and more holidays are being driven into the obligation of giving presents, cards or you have to wish someone a Happy *Insert Holiday Here* every time you speak to them. The truth is, no you really don't. Christmas is one of the few world wide holidays and I barely wish to hear Merry Christmas every time I talk to someone on that day, or for the entire fucking week after.
Yeah, call me bitter but it gets old when it's forced. And that's how I feel. Like saying I love you to someone who doesn't love you back. Do they have to say it anyways? Both my parents have gone, I'm not sure if I mentioned in previous posts or not but I lost my mother at the age of 15 and my dad at 26. The loss of my father drove me down a very very dark place, doing things I shouldn't have done that some know of and some it's just not their fucking business. But I still pay for those things and I've learned from them. Not just "Don't do that again!" but why I did it, why I felt like it was ok and why I should have just said no. Yeah, if you don't know the whole story go ahead and ask me and maybe I'll tell you if I don't think you're a douchebag who will use it against me like some have tried to.
Back to the holiday celebrations, or lack there of. I live alone, I have for years. Yes I've had relationships in this time. But unless I have someone to celebrate some of the holidays with, I don't care for them. My family has broken up since my dad passed away. On a scale of Brady Bunch to Partridge Family, we pretty much became The Jackson Five. You really don't want us all in the same room unless you want an alcoholic or four fighting with the drug addict who stole from one of his brothers kids or whatever. It's drama when we get together and that's why I keep to myself. I have my close circle of friends, which I consider to be more family than most of my own blood. Why? Because unlike my family, they've stuck around in my adult life even after I did something really fucking stupid.
Don't even get me started about the religious mumbo jumbo bullshit I witnessed in my life. Like I said before, dad was a part time Jehovah's Witness, along with my aunt and her 6 kids. One of which does everything a witness SHOULDN'T do and yet preaches to me about "Satan Claus" and what not. Another preaches to me as he cheats on his wife, another gets drunk every night to mask the pain of his fucked up daughters and how he couldn't save them from their even more fucked up mothers influence. Or whatever his reason is. Or the one who disbaned his ties to the JW community so he can just get drunk over his divorce and his kids being taken away from him by a maniac psycho bitch of an ex wife who took advantage of his heart.
Whew. That was more than I thought it would be. Sorry.
So when you say Happy *Holiday* to someone and they don't say it back, don't call them grumpy or a scrooge, don't say they're bitter. Maybe they just don't celebrate that holiday or just don't care for it?

Expectations and Salutations...
I see a lot of women online (and sometimes in real life) saying the same thing. They want a guy to take them to nice dinners, go on getaways and travel the world, someone tall, confident and successful. Well sweetheart, those guys are the minority.
What you're looking for exists in romance novels and movies and usually stars some skinny awkward female and a guy in skinny jeans with long hair & abs yet still finds it hard to talk to women because he's "shy".
How about someone who gets you, someone who instead of taking you to a nice dinner instead they will cook dinner with you? Maybe a guy who isn't wanted by every woman out there but just wants to be wanted by one? Maybe a guy who's good to have around when the power goes out, the car breaks down or you need to figure out how to operate the remote? Not some guy who's going to just pick up a phone and call someone to solve all your problems. Because honestly, chances are he's solving other problems with other people that he could be solving with you.
Relationships are a partnership. There's communication & participation involved.
Now don't get me wrong, I know a lot of guys out there who will let the garbage pile up and the faucet leak while the car is a few thousand miles past its oil change and the dog has shit in every room of the house and the kids are wearing the same clothes from yesterday. In my experience, those were the guys the women chased after and frankly as far as I'm concerned, they got what they deserved.
But then there's guys who get their hands dirty while she's right there with him. They're mowing the lawn with the kid helping (I don't condone toddlers wielding power tools but hey, as long as you're at least practicing safety..). There's also guys who will sit through those romantic comedies or will lay in bed for hours listening to her gab on about absolutely nothing until it actually all comes to a point and he finally figures out that all she wanted to say was the heel on her shoe broke at work.
Finding a guy with all of that wrapped into one package isn't very likely and they truly are a minority. But why aren't women looking for those minorities? Well because generally they aren't wrapped in very attractive packages. (Hi!!!! *waves*) At least not according to majority of society.
But that's fine. Let's take me, for instance. I'm not the best catch in the world. I have my issues, though they aren't quite as severe as some and don't require medication or self medication at that. I've made my mistakes in life, which I'm not "Paying for" but have learned from and slowing moving past it. I spun a giant negative in my life into a positive that has helped me through a lot tougher shit, like being an actual adult, being responsible paying bills all while trying to keep a damn good credit background. Who the hell cares about all of that stuff?!?!
While I say I'm single by choice, that is mostly true. I chose to keep to myself mostly because I've had not so good experiences with the dating I've done in the last few years. Maybe it's a geographical issue, maybe it's just the ones I'm attracted to or that I'm too open and easy. I've had great mental connections, great sex, great potential for even raising a family with good values and morals. But lately I can't seem to bring myself to find someone who I can say "Hey, she seems like a decent human being."
There's a lot of scams out there. Not the fake email asking you to give them your credit card info or that you've won some third world lottery. Scams as in people not being honest with their intentions, their issues or themselves. So let's reflect a little and look at what we really need, not what we saw on TV or in a book that sounded good. Because frankly. Christian Grey is a sexual predator by definition but it's only ok because he's rich. There's plenty of us more normal guys that would put you in your place in the bedroom and thrill the panties right off of you, if we even let you wear the panties at all.

Oh, hey there, blog!
So I started this thing up in the hopes that I would pen (or type) down more of my thoughts that places like Twitter couldn't hold. Plus this was an attempt at being more serious about my views and what not. Well we can see where my skills at following through with things lay.
I guess I should really pay more attention to what I'm thinking and maybe make more of an effort at writing these down. After all, my blogger is rather accessible.

Penny for your Genre?
What defines a Genre of music? Is it the Rhythm? The tempo? Could it be the instrumentation or the composition? Maybe it's the sound in general?
I listen to a lot of different music, take it from the size of my collection. I'm now over 56,000 songs in my library and it will continue to grow as long as I keep hearing things I like. Everything from Bluegrass, Classical, various electronic sub-genres and many instrumental and vocal genres as well as Classic Rock and Hip Hop. Music isn't just poetry with song, it's also art in sound. It's something that you feel, it stirs up emotions and feelings inside of you. If it doesn't, well then maybe you aren't at the same wavelength as I am when it comes to it.
Take Dubstep for example. There's a few different variations of it. Most describe it as "Garbage Disposal" music. Yes, there is some that can be so repetitive and boring that it makes you want to jump off a high rise to end your sorrows. But this goes for any other genre really. I prefer listening to the adrenaline pumping variations of it. The deep dark bass and sounds to it.
Music is dependent on my mood as well. Say I'm at the gym for instance (Yeah, I need to go back). If I'm doing cardio, I need to have something upbeat and positive like a good Dance, Progressive House or even Break Beat playlist going. If I'm going to lift weights, I need something that will make me feel that rush of a faux rage. Drum & Bass, Dubstep or Heavy Metal come to mind.
When you break down the music, you have a lot of varied parts of the song that make up the class or genre. Hip Hop is one genre that if you ask me, has been slowly ruined. Not so much because of the words or the lifestyle todays so-called rappers are living. It's down to one thing for me, Production Value. When someone like Dr. Dre puts a track together, the drums are crisp, clean and make perfect sense with the rest of the background. He puts detail into his songs that we take for granted. If you listen to some of the modern stuff, they just throw the same samples (a cheap snare, shitty and unclean basslines that hardly make sense) with poor thought put into the lyrics or even into the rhythm of the song. Hip Hop was an expression that made you move. Now it makes you want to live a lifestyle that is faked and staged more now than any reality show.
Maybe I think too much about all this, but it's what I do. I can listen to the many layers of a song or just bob my head back and forth because it just makes me do that with a smile. Sometimes I even still grind my teeth to some music.

Be an Adult for Christs sake...
So today I had the pleasure of being screamed at again by my co-worker. He's 5 years my senior, college educated and seems to think that his view in life is superior to keen intellect and past experience of those who have knowledge in areas he does know. Simply put, he's an artist that knows how to "Use" a computer and printer, but couldn't figure out how to take one apart if his life depended on it. I for one am the person who knows how to both use the equipment while also knowing how to maintain and repair it as well.
So we have this printer that I've been using for the past 4 years now. He's been there only the last 2 years. The printer has a "Sleep" function so it saves power. When a job is set to the print cue, the printer wakes up and resumes functioning once it has warmed back up. This is how this machine has worked since day one.
I had asked him to print some items for me and when I noticed that over an hour had gone by and the prints weren't done (Or even started for that matter) I went to ask if he had done them (You know, instead of yelling at him that I've been waiting for them for half the day now) and he said no he didn't but he said he hit the button to send the jobs. He then asked if the printer was asleep and I said yes, but it should wake up when it gets a job. He says, and I quote "In my experience it doesn't do that..." Your experience? You've been here for 2 years, you've sent numerous jobs to this printer and you never paid attention to when it wakes up? At this point I'm holding my tongue from telling him how much of an unobservant idiot he is. I simply tell him "No *Name*, the printer wakes up when you send a job to it. It's supposed to do that." So then he replies back, now raising his voice "Well in my experience it doesn't do that!" to which I replied "I've been using this particular printer for the last 4 years and I know for a fact that it does, it's a built in function" and before I can finish I get even louder now "IN MY FUCKING EXPERIENCE IT DOESN'T DO THAT! FUCK MAN! WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM!!!".... So screaming this at me will make it come true? Or you're telling me that I've been in some sort of delusional state for the last four years and the "Sleep" and "Wake" functions have all been just a dream? No, I think not my technologically illiterate friend. So my reply was "Dude, you don't have to scream at me ok? I'm just saying I know how the printer works rather well since I've been using it for so long" and again I'm cut off to more colorful words and screaming from his desk, to which he has not gotten up from to even see the printer wake up on its own anyways. I just said "Look, it turned on by itself just now so yes it does wake up when you send a job to it. Grow the fuck up and stop screaming at me and stop being a baby..." Mind you my tone and volume were far lower than his.
I walked back to the printer 2 minutes later only to notice he started printing the wrong job anyways so I had to clear the print cue and ask him to start the correct one this time. *sigh*
Simply put, when I have a question on Art History or what mystical bullshit alien conspiracy is hot today, then I'll trust your word. But when there's a technical issue or question, you best let the one with over half his life in experience handle the facts on that one, ok?

My Father...
A wise man once told me "Deal with it!". That wise man was my father. His words sometimes would sting a part of me that made me think "What the hell does he know?" but then I grew up and now I find myself more often than not saying "You were right dad... You were very smart..." I miss him to this very day. It will be 8 years this May. He wasn't the model citizen in his younger days, but he was one of the most honorable men I ever knew and one of the best friends and fathers I could have ever asked for. He kept me safe and made sure I was provided for. Not just in the sense that he bought things for me, but in the sense that no matter what I would be able to survive on my own. He gave me the ability to do many things for my self and not have to rely on others for so many things in life. He taught me independence and the basics of how to figure things out. So when something breaks, I try (And usually succeed) to fix it myself. When I want to improve something, I do it myself. Again, he wasn't exactly the perfect person, but to me he was the perfect father.
They say when you lose a loved one that they will always be there watching over you. To be honest, I never believed in that mumbo jumbo. Honestly, who wants to be in the middle of sex and think "Wow, so my dead relatives are watching me now?" Not me, that's for sure. But there have been many of times that I've felt like he was right there next to me when I needed him. You can keep your spiritual nonsense and your religious folklore. I have my heart and my memories and that's all I need to survive in my world.
